The House – The History

Pension Prielkreuz in Hinterstoder Anfang 1900, damals noch als Schachinger’s Erholungsheim.

In 1900, Georg Julius Schachinger acquired the former “Villa Erika” and established “Schachinger’s Erholungsheim Prielkreuz” (Schachinger’s Prielkreuz Convalescent Home) – laying the historic foundation for today’s Prielkreuz guesthouse in Hinterstoder.

Between 1938 and 1939, Maria Muck took over the guesthouse. She had the building extensively renovated and gave it the name it is still known by today: “Pension Prielkreuz” in Hinterstoder.

After the Second World War, the guesthouse developed into a popular retreat for those seeking relaxation. Famous Austrian personalities and entertainers such as Peter Alexander and Maxi Böhm also spent their vacations here, contributing to the house’s unique history.

Since 1970, the Prielkreuz guesthouse has been owned by the Huber family. From 2014 to 2018, the historic building underwent extensive renovation and modernization, with great care taken to preserve its original charm and unique atmosphere.

Today, the Prielkreuz in Hinterstoder houses several independent, lovingly designed holiday apartments managed by different owners. In this way, the building beautifully combines its more than one-hundred-year history with modern vacation options – all united under one tradition-rich roof.
